Justin Adian is a contemporary artist known for his unique sculptural paintings. He gained recognition for his works that blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture. Adian often creates pieces using enamel paint, foam, canvas, and stretcher bars, arranging them in bold, minimalist compositions. His artworks explore themes of materiality, form, and color, inviting viewers to reconsider the traditional conventions of painting. His paintings are comprised of pieces that touch and come together as Adian says in a narrative, they relate to each other. Adian received his MFA from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of Art. Adian’s works have been reviewed and discussed in ArtNews; Hyperallergic; Flaunt; Purple; Artforum; Autre; and The New York Times amongst others. His work is in the collection of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, TX.
