ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Long-established and well-noted artist, Benito Huerta’s works of art are featured in museums  and corporate collections across the nation.

Huerta most recently retired, after twenty-five years, as the Director and Curator at the  Gallery at UTA, at the University of Texas at Arlington. He will continue teaching on a  part time basis and is looking forward to working in his personal studio. Professor Huerta earned his BFA from the University of Houston and an MA from New Mexico State University.

Steve Murphy’s work will be featured at the second William Campbell Gallery location on Foch St. Murphy’s work engages the classical elements of sculpture; form, volume,  surface and edge. He works within a limited range of shapes, edge treatments, and angles of repose. Juxtaposing these elements into multiple formats is the primary focus of his continued investigation and development.

Steve shares, “I want the pieces to allow the viewer to slow down, have a quiet, meditative like experience when contemplating these works, and hopefully walk away  with a fresh way of seeing and experiencing the world around them.
